To ensure this code release, Wilco Jansen resorted to sending rum to joint lead-developer Johan Janssens. Johan, who's had a penchant for rum ever since the first "Pirate's of the Caribbean" movie screened, took the bait, mixed it with Cola, and here we are with our latest 1.5 release. It looks like pirate talk will figure quite a lot in future Joomla! development!

The legend of Buca di Beppo involves a covert meeting of key developers in a Mafia-style restaurant in the United States. 'Bucas' has on more than one occasion been the catalyst for key (and in some cases considered insurmountable) development 'humps' being overcome. With copius amounts of food and wine flowing, the creative juices of coders seem to work keener, faster, and problems are solved. Louis Landry famously agreed that living near a Bucas could actually lead to faster development cycles. Mmmm. A restaurant with photos of famous Mafia films like The Godfather and violin cases leaning against the booths. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? If Joomla! was a commercial venture, we're sure management would actually consider building a Bucas inside the building! Masterchief meet Bugsy Landry.

Tra gli smartphone Windows Phone il Nokia Lumia 800 e il Lumia 710 sono le scelte migliori. Ci aspettavamo tuttavia di più dal produttore finlandese, considerando la stretta partenership con Microsoft. La linea di continuità a cui il mercato Windows Phone ci ha abituato nell'ultimo anno non è ancora stata spezzata.

Per chi ama i videogiochi passare a un SSD non è necessariamente la scelta migliore, rispetto a cambiare la scheda grafica o la CPU. Le moderne unità a stato solido non aumentano la fluidità di gioco, ma offrono comunque alcuni vantaggi rilevanti.

La mela è uno degli elementi costanti e ripetuti nella storia dell'umanità: un archetipo dell'evoluzione dell'uomo. Dal simbolo del peccato, la mela (nella traduzione latina) di Adamo ed Eva, la mela (pomo) della discordia, consegnata da Paride a Venere, la mela che Guglielmo Tell pose sulla testa del figlio, la mela di Newton e la mela di Biancaneve. Ci sono anche altri esempi, ma questi sono i più famosi. Ora ne possiamo aggiungere uno nuovo, quello della mela della Apple, vera rivoluzione del nuovo millennio.

La scrittura di questo articolo nasce dalla lettura delle pagine del libro Fisica 2. Elettromagnetismo - ottica, di David Halliday e Robert Resnick, relative alla velocità della luce e anche dall'indubbio fascino che esercita un argomento del genere sugli studenti e non solo. Ho deciso quindi di proporre agli utenti di ElectroYou questo articolo in cui ripropongo quanto letto sul libro cercando anche di ripercorrere le "modalità" che gli studiosi del passato hanno impiegato ed introdotto per la misurazione della luce. Rieccomi, il progetto è terminato, però durante il suo sviluppo, sono saltate all’occhio alcuni problemi o mancanze sia nel firmware, che nel sito e quindi in questo articolo volevo elencarle e spiegare brevemente come sono state risolte.
